Internet radio has the potential to be the most ubiquitous form of media ever. More commanding of your attention than film, television, or books. This is because listening to music can be enjoyed while doing other activities. Before I go further, let me make an important distinction: there are two types of listeners, lean back and lean forward. Lean back listeners hear music programming via a playlist or radio station (think “set it and forget it”), whereas lean forward listeners actively select individual songs. The majority of people prefer a lean back experience.
In 2014, one third of Americans used their phones to stream music. Young adults (18-24) listened to internet radio more than terrestrial. Two of the top five most popular apps in America (Pandora and Youtube) are used for streaming music. With Americans now spending more time on their phones than watching television, there has never been a more opportune time to maximize internet radio experiences.
I have the pleasure (and when I say pleasure I mean it does not feel like work) of programming a widely listened to Internet Radio Station. You may be hearing it now, just as you came upon this page. The idea is to get your Product or Service heard by the Internet Masses. The flow of the radio station consists of my personal favorites, of which I am sure many of them are your favorites as well. The tunes range from the 50s on up through the years, in a loose chronological order.
It is not just endless music. For many years I worked in radio as a professional, programming the music and announcing the news, etc. It was a lot of fun, but I ended up choosing a different path as things progressed. I have always had this vision of how I wanted a radio station to sound, and have rarely heard it, until now. I think you’ll like how this sounds. Please give it a listen and Thank You.
What is Your Internet Radio Potential? Your audience is the entire world, when you think about it. We promote, and boy do we promote! We are able to track when and where the listeners are coming from, how long they listen, what songs are on when they join and leave, and many other stats. If you have a product or service, I can promote it here on our Internet Radio Station. I, Chris Jones, can voice your commercial, or you can. You will get professionalism at the highest level. My Audio Editing skills have come from many years in the business.

You gotta stay true to your roots. I’ve been layin’ it down live in my head, on the air, and on the Net since 1979! “Chris Jones Favorites” is gaining listeners every day. You diggin’ it yet? There are many Entertainment Choices today. Thank you for coming here!
I began broadcasting on a College Radio Station at SUNY Plattsburgh (NY, USA) in 1979, and was a professional broadcaster until 1993 when my life went a different way. Once that Radio bug hit, I was infected forever. This radio station features 50 years of personal favorites; tunes with energy and passion!
In 1979-1980 I was an aspiring radio announcer at the Plattsburgh State University College radio station called WPLT (different now). I spent some time on Campus perfecting my craft, and after a while I decided that an actual job in radio was what I was after. If I recall, it was in April 1980 that Gordie Little at WIRY 1340am must have seen something in me, and I was hired at WIRY. This was a pretty awesome thing for me, as Gordie’s guidance was the catalyst that kept me going in radio for a very long time after I had left Plattsburgh. The man was a gem, the purest human being you’d ever want to meet. His style of radio inspired me. The way he communicated with everyone, on and off the radio, was inspiring and formed the basis of how I went from radio into sales, and how I still communicate with people on a daily basis. I consider myself lucky and blessed to have known Gordie Little. Gordie Passed on 22 June, 2016. Rest In Peace.
I stayed at WIRY in Plattsburgh until sometime in 1981 when I got aspirations to check out other markets, namely Burlington, Vermont. For a while I was employed at WJOY 1230am, and made some good friends there. In 1983 I decided that another move was in order, and moved back across Lake Champlain, but down the lake a bit, into Ticonderoga NY. In Ticonderoga I did some work on two different radio stations, an AM and an FM. That was fun until about 1984 when I found myself down in Glens Falls NY at WWSC 1450am, where a professional by the name of Dave Covey taught me a few things about how radio is done. WWSC was a lot like WIRY in that they were/are both hometown radio stations, broadcasting at 1000 watts of power, in their respective markets. I stayed in the Glens Falls NY radio market until about 1993, having then got into sales.
The radio bug has never left me, lol. For the longest time I programmed an Internet Radio station at Live365, now defunct since 1 Feb., 2016. As of this post, I am programming an online station that you can access on the ‘What We Do‘ page of this site, presenting my personal favorites, which I plan on keeping alive for a long time or longer, lol.
